Milford, MI Established in May 1845, was formally named in May 1871. When it was officially designated as the township cemetery, the remains from the area's "old burying ground" begun on the corner of Mill and Washington streets in 1832, were moved to it. E. Ruggles, the towns first white settler, and veterans of the War of 1812 and the Civil War are buried here. The site has an early potter's field near the Huron River. The cemetery vault, built to thwart grave robbers and provide a place to store remains during hard winters, dates back to 1885. In 1980 the vault was restored and a new fieldstone entrance was built. The original cemetery, which covered 12.76 acres, has over the years expanded to encompass 15.36 acres.
Full Moon Investigation Members Present (At this investigation): Lisa M., Jenny M., Keith C., and Lisa H. It all began at 6:30pm at a local cemetery. The occasional breeze that came through was quite chilly. Although there was a full moon, it was quite cloudy which made it pretty dark, and gloomy. We noticed it was lightly snowing at the beginning of the investigation, so anything that appeared to be an "orb" had to be eliminated as possible evidence. There were a couple of times when the EMF meter gave off interesting readings, but nothing out of the ordinary appeared in those photos. The temperature gage didn't pick up on anything unusual during these times either. There was one occation when the temperature gage gave off a reading of 105 degrees celcius, which we couldn't figure out. We snapped as many pics as we could durring this occurance, and again, nothing out of the ordinary. Reaching one of the last paths of the evening, Jenny M. thought she heard a chuckle type laughter behind the group. We asked for any spirit entity near to please make contact with us. Walking only a few steps more, Keith C. thought he heard an older males voice to the right of the group. Again we asked for comfirmation of any presence around. No possible paranormal phenomena was captured durring this investigation. |
