Creepy Ouija Noises
by Nichole
Back in 1991 in my senior year of high school, I dated a guy that lived in a haunted house. My boyfriend's bedroom was in the basement of the house and in his bedroom was a small basement window. He had built wood shudders to block out any light and, believe me, when the lights went out, you didn't know if your eyes were open or shut - it was that dark!
One night when we got ready for bed, the light went out and the door was shut. Before falling asleep, I lay there looking around (even though I couldn't see anything), and when I looked at the wall on my side of the bed, there was a faded white figure in the middle of the wall. I looked at the wall on my boyfriend's side of the bed to see if there was a reflection coming through the window reflecting off of a mirror or something to explain the white shadow – but there was nothing.
I asked him if he could see the white shadow on the wall and he could not. I then calmly asked him to turn on the light as I kept my eye on the figure the whole time, and when he turned on the light the figure was gone. After that, we kept a nightlight on in the room and melted quite a few lamps.
A couple of months later, we had visited a friend who had done some spring cleaning and wanted to get rid of a Ouija board. She wanted to get rid of it because she said it was evil and didn't want it in her house anymore. My boyfriend experienced the unexplainable as well. On occasion, he would hear a baby cry or someone calling his name when he was home alone. Anyway, we took the Ouija board to his house and decided to try it out.
We were sitting on the floor in the basement, and to my left was his bedroom. Since his room gave me the creeps, I asked him to shut the door. We sat there waiting for something to happen, but the pointer wouldn't move. After a few minutes of concentration, we started hearing noises coming from his room and we both stopped and looked at each other, not really sure what to think.
We started up again and the whole time we both stared at the door. The sounds in the room began to escalate as we were hearing what sounded like a wild animal growling and trying to get out of his room. We both stopped and he went up to the door and opened it. Only a cold breeze was felt, nothing else happened.
After he opened the door we went back to the board which became very active, we even had the nerve to go into his room and sit on the bed with the Ouija board in hand. After awhile we put the board away and, strangely enough, there was almost a sense of peace that came over the house.
A couple of months later, my boyfriend had gotten home late and was walking to his room in the dark. He saw a bunch of white figures standing around the pool table and if that wouldn't be enough to freak you out, when he went into his room, there was a white figure lying on his bed!
Ouija Possession

As an undergraduate as SFA, I made the mistake of messing with a Ouija board. I'm a scientist and firmly believe in factual reality rather than subjective assumptions. That's why this is so frightening to me, because I simply can't deny what happened.
My friends said they found a Ouija board on the ground by the dumpster when they threw out some trash. After being designated driver after several bar hops and watching them become very foolish, we headed back to their apartment. They pulled out the Ouija board and, of course, being a scientist, I was happy to try it so I could explain how fake it is.
As all hands were on it, it immediately began spelling Latin (which my friend knew) and he understood something I still don't know. He turned flush white and refused to play anymore. I was now totally motivated since this could be some kind of tool to understand a person's subconscious. It continued to spell out details, and my other friends became frightened and took their hands off. At this point, I'm stumped at the physics of what is moving the piece to the letters and in this mystical mood failed to realize until at least five or six seconds had gone by that it was moving my hands alone. When I realized what was happening, I immediately took my hands off and felt a sensation like a chill that runs down the spine.
After driving them around to drink up their last ounce of soberness, I went back to my dorm with my dorm mate and fell fast asleep. At about 3 a.m., I came out of a dream that my hands were on the Ouija board and my fingers were moving to the letter incredibly fast spelling things to me I didn't want to know about. It was intense enough that I physically sat up and opened my eyes in our pitch black room (aluminum foil on the windows). Just as clear as day, a "sunspot" image of the Ouija board was on the wall and my fingers were on it. I couldn't control my own thoughts. I then looked at my hands and realized my fingers were actually moving. I simply couldn't stop them and shoved them under my armpits and said, "NO!"
Almost immediately, in a voice I'll never forget, I heard, "Why are you hurting me?" coming from the direction of my room mate's bed. I figured he must have woken up, so I asked, "What?" Again it repeated, "Why are you hurting me?" I realized this voice was not the least bit groggy and my room mate was passed out drunk. I couldn't think of anything to say but, "What are you talking about?" That's when all of a sudden my room mate woke up and the most awful phlegm-filled sound came out as he managed a "What's wrong?" and then immediately went back to sleep.
At this, I'm petrified and go across the hall to some other friends. Being awake at 3 a.m. playing video games (usual) they just looked at me before I even got all the way through the door and one of them said, "Steve, you look like you've seen a ghost." I didn't say a word. I just got my bible and went to the lobby and read for about an hour. I got to a particular verse that said something along the lines of being assigned integrity and something else as my guards. As soon as I read it, I felt warm all over, as if someone just covered me with one of those fleece blankets. I went back to sleep and have had no trouble since.
That was about eight years ago and I think about it all the time wondering who said that to me and how I was "hurting" it. I'm as sure as I can be that it was a voice outside of myself because it was from a distinct direction from my left and although it was a man's voice, it was not of a voice I recognized.
I hope anyone reading this realizes that this "game" is not a joke. I'll never ever even go near one again. It's the closest thing to real evil I've ever encountered.
